These terms set out the deal between you and ScamBare. They are short on purpose, because the service is free, needs no account, and asks nothing of you beyond sensible use.
1. Accepting these terms
By using ScamBare — the website, the scam text checker, the dictionary, the games, or any tool on it — you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the service.
2. What ScamBare is
ScamBare is an independent scam education platform. It provides a scam text checker, a scam dictionary, a password generator, interactive detective games, and written guides. Everything is offered free of charge for informational and educational purposes.
3. Educational use, not a guarantee
Our analysis combines a pattern engine with AI assessment. Both are useful and both are fallible.
A "looks safe" result is an opinion based on known patterns, not a guarantee that a message is genuine. A "dangerous" result is a strong warning, not a legal finding.
Always apply your own judgement, verify senders through official channels, and contact the relevant authority when something matters financially.
4. Not legal, financial, or professional advice
Nothing on ScamBare is legal, financial, security, or professional advice. If you believe you have been defrauded, contact your bank and your national reporting body — the resources page lists them by country.
5. Acceptable use
When using ScamBare, you agree not to:
- Submit malware, illegal content, or another person's private data
- Attempt to probe, overload, or compromise the service or its infrastructure
- Scrape the site with automated tools or resell access to it
- Present ScamBare output as legal evidence or an official determination
- Reproduce our content commercially without permission
6. Availability
We aim to keep ScamBare online and accurate, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". Features may change, and AI deep analysis may occasionally be unavailable — in that case the pattern engine still runs and the result tells you so.
7. Intellectual property
Articles, dictionary entries, game design, artwork, and the ScamBare name and logo belong to ScamBare and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may quote and link to our articles with clear attribution. You may not republish them wholesale or use our branding to imply endorsement.
8. Third-party links
We link to banks, regulators, and reporting bodies where it helps. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or their handling of your data.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ScamBare is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the service, including any decision made on the basis of a verdict. Use of the tools is at your own risk. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page, and continuing to use the service afterwards means you accept the revised terms.
