Student loan forgiveness scam

Robocalls, texts, and emails claim you qualify for student loan forgiveness or a 'Biden-era relief program' but must act fast. For a fee — or your Federal Student Aid login — they 'enroll' you. In reality they pocket the fee, steal your identity, or hijack your loan account. Legitimate forgiveness programs are free to apply for through studentaid.gov.

• Upfront or monthly fees to apply
• Requests for your FSA ID username and password
• Urgency: 'enrollment closes this week'
