Task and 'liking' job scam

Paid to click likes or rate products — until you're asked to top up.

How it works

A WhatsApp or Telegram recruiter offers easy remote work: complete simple tasks, earn a small commission. The first few payouts are real. Then a 'combination task' requires you to deposit your own money to unlock a bigger commission, and each withdrawal attempt reveals another fee.

Red flags

  • Recruitment by cold WhatsApp or Telegram message
  • You must deposit your own funds to keep earning
  • Earnings shown only on the company's own dashboard
  • Withdrawal blocked by a tax, upgrade, or verification fee

Real-world example

"Hi! We're hiring app reviewers, $300/day. Complete 40 tasks daily. To unlock the VIP task set, top up 500 USDT."

What to do

  1. 01Real jobs pay you. Never deposit money to unlock work or a withdrawal.
  2. 02Stop paying the moment a fee appears — sunk cost is what the model exploits.
  3. 03Screenshot the chat and wallet addresses, then report to your national fraud body.
  4. 04Block the recruiter and leave the group.
